Vegan Dairy Alternatives – No Lactose, No Animal Suffering

Coffee without milk is like a summer without sunshine? And pizza without cheese just doesn’t work? We absolutely agree! However, since we do not want animals to suffer for our pleasure, here are all these products in the vegan, plant-based version. Of course, with great taste!

How do vegans meet their calcium requirements?
Due to its high calcium content, cow’s milk was for decades regarded as a healthy and important food product. Lately however, this myth was more and more frequently disproved by scientists.
The truth is that a human body does not need milk, but a baby cow does though. Much more: About three quarters of the world population is lactose intolerant and cannot digest milk sugar at all.
Without doubt, calcium is very important for our bone health. Nonetheless, we can also get our share of this essential mineral nutrient without harming animals. It is very much present in plant based food as for instance in broccoli, kale, tofu, hazelnuts and almonds. Compared to an uptake from animal products, the one from plants is even more effective. Whereas dairy products are rich in protein, much of their calcium is simply washed out of the body again. By the way, in order to make your body absorb this nutrient properly, vitamin D is needed. So, it’s time to go outside!
In sum, when following a balanced diet without milk, cheese or yoghurt, there’s no need to worry about your calcium supply. Apart from that, the fact that cows nowadays yield up to 40 liters of milk per day while only about eight liters would be natural really beggars description. Moreover, consumers would surely be very willing to do without the antibiotics and hormones which can be found in processed milk.
